Third time's proven to be a charm for Filipina and three-time Olympian Hidilyn Diaz who bagged the silver medal in the women's weightlifting 53 kg-division late Sunday (Monday morning, Manila time) in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Diaz's win officially ended the 20-year Olympic medal drought of the Philippines, which last earned an Olympic medal in 1996 when boxer Onyok Velasco picked up a silver in his division. Pursuant to the Athletes Incentive Act, Diaz comes home to the Philippines with a five million peso reward.
