LOOK: LAZADA NOW DELIVERS ESSENTIAL GOODS DURING ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE IN LUZON | PHILIPPINES

Lazada is now delivering items classified as "essential goods" during the duration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon which started on March 15, 2020 and due to end on April 14, 2020.

These essential goods were identified by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as follows: alcohols and sanitizers, personal care, vitamins and supplements, baby personal care, fresh meat and vegetables, canned goods, snacks, beverages, household supplies, laundry, cleaning equipment, as well as pet care essentials.

One caveat, though: cash on delivery is still temporarily suspended, so checkouts need to be paid either by Lazada Wallet (LazWallet) or credit/debit card.

This development could not have come at a better time, considering the long queues in supermarkets and groceries, as well as the limited time people have to shop due to curfews and allowable time windows to go out. Queues to ATM booths are also long, so paying through debit card or credit card is definitely a welcome option.

Recall that at the onset of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon two weeks ago, Lazada announced that it was temporarily suspended its logistics operations. This was in keeping with the policy on social distancing and "flattening the curve" aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus in the Philippines.
