HERE'S ONE MORE REASON UNIONBANK'S MOBILE APP IS A PERSONAL FINANCING WINNER: AUTO-SAVINGS

All of us have financial goals. Whether these are short-term or long-term goals, the fact is that we try to look ahead and plan in advance in order to make these goals come true.

Many of these goals involve money. Some of these include buying a new home, a new car, or a new gadget such as cellphone or laptop. Some of these involve contingency plans, such as emergency savings in anticipation of calamities or health issues.

But the problem with these goals is that for many of us, these goals remain as abstract goals that we know we want to reach but without any idea how.

The UnionBank app addresses this all-too common concern. This app has an auto-savings feature that allows you to create a goal and be very specific about it. These goals include family, housing, business, or investment, among others.

So say, you want to set up a travel fund. The app will ask you how much you intend to save up, for how long, and how much are you willing to put into it for a certain period of time. The app also tells you when you are going to reach such goal based on the information you have entered.

Here are some screenshots from the app:

Step 1: Create a goal.

Step 2: Fund your goal.

Once you have created your goal, all you have to do is sit back and let the app do its things. In the above example, if you put P35,000 as your travel goal to fund your trip to Australia and you commit to put P3,000 in it every week, then it will take until July 2020 for you to reach such goal.

And because this app feature is automatic, then P3,000 from your savings account will be automatically put in your goal until such time that you are able to reach the amount you initially set. You may also cancel your goal anytime and get the money you have put into it. Easy.

This feature might appear very basic, but it's a feature that many banking apps do not offer. If you want to set up automatic savings in other banks, you would need to set up a new account and go to an actual bank to do so, if you're lucky; many banks do not even have the auto savings feature at all.

Many people have been raving about UnionBank's app for the longest time. This auto-savings feature is just one of the many reasons why.
